The 5 Best SEO Tools That Will Take Your Business to the Next Level

Best SEO Tools That Will Take Your Business to the Next Level

With so many different SEO tools on the market, it can be hard to know which ones are worth your time. That's why we've created a list of our five favorite SEO tools for small and medium-sized businesses. See what they are!

1. Yoast SEO

SEO can be a confusing subject, but Yoast SEO makes it easy for you to get more traffic and more links to your site by giving you real-time feedback on how well your content is optimized for search engines. If you’re writing content for your business, this is a great tool to help your site rank higher on search engines. At Yoast, you can create SEO-friendly content.

2. SEMRush

SEMRush is a great tool for keyword research and to find your competitors' SEO strategies. It’s a paid platform but worth the investment if you’re serious about SEO. BrokerRatio is another great tool for keyword research and a great place to see how your business stacks up to other locations in your geographical area. You can also use it to add your competitors’ domains and see how they do it.

Ubersuggest is a tool for checking out keywords, earnings, links/high-quality content, and organic traffic. It’s free to use. An angle is a reminder tool that lets you create subdomains that point to your main domain. Read more about them here. Linktree is a paid tool to help you optimize your web pages. It’s easy to use and what we love about it is that it shows you what’s out there in the market, as well as what’s useful. Ookla is an excellent tool for keyword research, but more than that.

It tells you how and when people search online and offers suggestions as to what content will bring you the best results. It’s free to use! Google Trends is vital because it tells you how Google thinks your audience is searching for specific keywords. And since it’s free, you can use it to your advantage. Yotpo is a great option to help you stay optimized and optimize your website for specific keywords. It’s very detailed and can give you an idea of a keyword’s costs, potential completions, and organic vs paid traffic. Zapier is a free tool for automating tasks, so definitely give it a shot!

The tool that we recommend for sole proprietors/small businesses is WebFX. It’s an all-in-one SEO tool that can help you with all forms of content publishing and keyword research.

3. Moz Pro

Moz Pro is a great tool that helps you manage your online reputation. It shows you where your business is mentioned online and gives you the ability to manage your online reputation. It allows you to find and contact people who have shared content about you, and it also allows you to respond to them in a way that represents your brand well.

For small to medium businesses and blogs, it is a wonderful tool to find out how to pull in traffic and even create some leads. Moz allows you to investigate your content to see what keywords are being used and even discover new website content platforms that are emerging. This guide shows you how to be successful using this great tool that will help both you and your website.

If you’re unsure where to start, look no further than Substack. Like many of you, we write for a niche we’ve previously explored. A few months ago, we decided it wasn’t worth the time and energy to explore other niches beyond that one, and for the most part, we succeeded. However, there are a few things we could position our site as being good at. You’ll want to know that it works for anyone, regardless of their niches, and it can also manage search engine rankings. Substack comes in two different editions which will help you determine which one you should use. The advantage of having both versions is you can see which one will suit your needs the best.

Zumper is a tool that shows you where your website is being mentioned on other websites, as well as what those websites have in common. It also helps with identifying keywords and providing those keywords relevant to your website. This is similar to Google Analytics in that it provides you with a report but for websites. Zumper allows you to compare your results with comparable websites to see how you stack up.

We included this tool not only because it’s free but because it’s one of the most reliable and quick to use free tools to check if you’re having any branding issues.

4. WebSite Auditor

WebSite Auditor is a tool to find broken links, duplicate content, and missing titles. Helps you identify all the pages linking to your site and get them under control. With the Analyze link details page, you get a detailed view of all your outbound links: they’re either sending traffic to your site or not. This page also includes a report so you can check up on your overall performance over time.

Link Explorer shows how much traffic has gone to each link pointing to your site. Links can be broken using the radio button in the top right. I use this to find and fix the broken links that may be causing duplicate content or never linking to your site at all. Simply type in what you’re looking for in the search bar, and the tool will show you all the pages where the link stands. Another cool feature is the autocomplete feature — when you type in a term or phrase into the search bar, the tool will suggest relevant pages for you to check out. Scroll down to see the results.

Google Suggest is another great finder and one you should have on your list of SEO tools.? With more than one billion searches a month conducted globally, Google is continuously seeking ways to make our search quality better. Try out Google Keyword Planner, which helps you to find the search volume and related searches where you want to rank for your keywords. Use the Advanced settings page to fine-tune your targeted keyword searches as well. Keyword Planner polls your current keyword list and tells you where your potential keyword matches might be. Select a keyword to check out now.

Ellipsis Checker is a feature most used by professional SEOs, highlighting what words can be taken out of a URL in search engines.

5. Ahrefs

Ahrefs is a tool that allows you to spy on your competitors’ backlinks to see how they’re getting ranked and find out how you can improve your backlink profile and take your site to the next level. It’s based in Europe and runs on an API that allows you to run queries on a number of different parameters. It’s easy to use and has a few cool features, including the ability to take a competitor’s backlink profile and see whether you can “subtly inject” your page there instead. You can also see where the competition is getting traffic and see a breakdown of how that compares to your own site. Find out more at ahrefs.com/advisories.

Google Analytics is an awesome tool that allows you to track how many clicks you receive on your ads and more. The statistics can tell you a lot about the performance of your marketing campaigns, how well search engines rank your website, and how to improve your performance. This tool is not free, but it is cross-site and mobile-friendly so you should be able to get it up and running in a very short amount of time. If you examine your account carefully, you can see where your users are clicking on your ads the most and figure out where you can improve.

Backlinko is based out of Canada and has a variety of features, from information on cookie-based backlinks to organic backlink checkers. The free paid version includes many more features, though, so we’d recommend checking out the premium version for the extra functionality. Best of all, Backlinko has a pretty nifty reporting feature that allows you to see the links your competitors are using, along with what domains they’re linking from and how strong their links are. These stats are super valuable for achieving better rankings and optimizing your content.

Freddie receives a lot of praise for its feature set.
