What Are the Most Exciting Matches in the Cricket World Cup?

Exciting Matches in the Cricket World Cup

The Cricket World Cup is one of the world’s largest sporting events, with matches played across 14 different countries over an eight-week period each year. When it’s time to kick-off, everyone has their favorite teams and players, but what are the most exciting matches to look forward to? Here are five of the most anticipated matches in this year’s Cricket World Cup.

India vs Pakistan

If you’re a cricket fan, you know these two teams are big rivals. This is India and Pakistan’s first time playing each other since 2007, so it should be an exciting match—especially if their test series earlier that year (also known as The War of 2007) is any indication. Fans of both countries will travel to Australia for these matches and fans from around the world will tune in on TV. Regardless of which team you support, don’t miss out on watching some great cricket! There are several other exciting games as well (namely those with Australia, Sri Lanka, and England), but be sure to watch India vs Pakistan!

India vs South Africa

The world cup is finally here! Every four years, cricket fans around the globe gather around their televisions to watch their favorite teams compete against each other. With so many star players on each team, it can be hard to choose who to root for. But, don’t worry! We’ve created a bracket that lets you vote on who you think will win between each pair of countries. Just be sure to check back after every game because we’ll update our brackets accordingly. Of course, there are several other exciting matches that you should keep an eye out for. Below, we’ll take a look at these matches and determine which one stands out as most likely to excite viewers during world cup 2018. Each of these groups has its own set of thrilling matches; however, one matchup stands out from all others: India vs South Africa (16 June). These two top-ranked teams have consistently placed highly in past tournaments. Last year's finalist England plays Australia (17 June) while Pakistan plays Ireland (17 June). Defending champions Australia face Afghanistan while New Zealand plays Sri Lanka.

England vs Sri Lanka

This match will be held on June 19, 2015. The teams have a long history of rivalry and England has beaten Sri Lanka 8 times out of 10 games. It will be very interesting to see whether Sri Lanka can break its losing streak against England or not. England has an awesome batting lineup, so I expect it to win again. On their recent tour in Sri Lanka, they won 2 matches by just one run and 1 match with 5 wickets remaining.

South Africa vs West Indies

The two giants of world cricket have an intense rivalry with each other; both teams possess some of the most exciting cricketers. This match is guaranteed to be a feast for cricketing enthusiasts who want to see some fiery fast bowling and good batting. The match could also see South Africa bringing back their star batsman AB de Villiers after he recovered from an elbow injury. West Indies are still without Chris Gayle due to his shoulder injury, but they should still give South Africa a tough time. Even though this game will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, it is very likely that it will sell out because of its potential as a thriller.

England vs Bangladesh

These two teams have not met since 2006 and there is a lot of pent-up rivalry between them. Bangladesh beat England to qualify for their first world cup back in 1999 and they followed it up with wins over Zimbabwe, Kenya, and Scotland before getting blown out by Australia. A fourth-place finish resulted, but England has never forgiven Bangladesh for keeping them out of India four years ago. Both teams can use a win here as neither team has performed particularly well so far. England got crushed by New Zealand and Ireland while Bangladesh made it through after getting blasted by Australia and New Zealand (but holding on against Afghanistan). The winner of these two will be among those that fight for a top 4 spot and both will consider themselves more than capable if they can get on a roll.

Conclusion

Overall, cricket is a great sport to watch—it’s fast-paced and exciting. The teams are competitive, but most importantly, it’s fun! If you want to learn more about world cup events in 2018. Thanks for reading!
