The 10 most effective reddit marketing strategies to make your business successful

The 10 most effective reddit marketing strategies to make your business successful

The 10 most effective reddit marketing strategies to make your business successful

Reddit is one of the largest online communities and often referred to as the front page of the internet. It has over 250 million unique visitors and 542 million page views each month, making it one of the best places to promote your business. However, there are several challenges that many business owners don’t know about when trying to tap into this massive audience and often end up making all of the mistakes that could have been easily avoided with a little bit of information beforehand.

Post Relevant And Valuable Content

When posting on Reddit, you want to share content that will be of value or interest to readers. Posting links that aren’t relevant for their subreddit can get you downvoted quickly and even banned from posting. This is not what you want! Share things that are relevant and original content; this way, you’ll have a better chance at increasing traffic. Another good thing about Reddit is that it doesn’t require any personal information. It doesn’t require email addresses or phone numbers. Thus, if someone finds you annoying in some way, they don’t have any ways to contact you—which helps a lot when trying to build credibility on social media sites. Let them be anonymous when commenting on posts as well so it encourages participation rather than discourages it which many sites do by having users post with Facebook comments etc. Keep it simple and let people focus on sharing great content with each other rather than having unnecessary features distracting users from finding awesome posts/links!

Use A Great Title

Nothing is better than a great title. Great titles attract users and pique their interest. It’s important that you choose a title that gets people excited about reading your content. There are multiple ways you can accomplish this. One way is by including an attention-grabbing question or something surprising or shocking in your title, for example: I just found out I got fired from my job... AMA! People love to read stories from real-life individuals, so including these types of questions will capture their attention and keep them engaged. A good title also includes keywords related to what you have written, so it will show up more often on search engines such as Google and Bing. Having relevant keywords in your title will help ensure that people searching for information on those topics find your post instead of someone else's.

Post At The Right Time

Reddit is huge. That’s both a blessing and a curse. The site receives 174 million unique visitors every month, according to Alexa—but it can also be difficult for marketers looking to promote a product or brand that doesn’t fit in with users’ existing interests. If you think about what kind of person uses Reddit—and then use that knowledge when planning your posts—you can increase the chance of them seeing your content. What do redditors like? Hate?

Engage In The Comments Section

If you’re going to be active on Reddit, it makes sense that you engage with other users. Many subreddits have official moderators who are able to weed out spam and other comments they don’t agree with, but it’s still best to build up a rapport with actual users. If a moderator asks you something in a direct message, try and answer their questions as fully as possible. Even if there is no moderator present, try answering questions in a friendly way (even hostile ones!) and ask what else you can do for them if they want more information from you.

Post Upvotes To Your Own Posts

Marketing is all about creating awareness. Redditors are a great audience for promoting content and links, so you want to let them know you’re interested in interacting with them. One of the best ways to do that is by posting upvotes on any of your own posts that have made it into a subreddit that’s relevant to your niche or product. When someone upvotes a post, everyone can see it — which means anyone who sees that vote knows right away you’re involved with Reddit and you understand what they like. And really, who wouldn’t like that?

Respond To Other People’s Posts

On Reddit, upvoting posts and comments is essentially a vote of confidence for that post or comment. The more upvotes something gets, the higher it rises on its subreddit and on r/all. To put it another way: if you were looking for feedback about a particular idea or product, Reddit is a perfect place to get it—but be warned that some subreddits are full of insincere or just plain mean trolls. On top of that, nothing on Reddit stays in one place forever: If you see something good today but don’t bookmark it right away, there’s no guarantee it will still be around tomorrow!

Use Correct Grammar And Punctuation In Titles And Posts

Just because you’re writing an Internet publication doesn’t mean you can throw grammar and punctuation out of the window. It might be a bit nitpicky, but it really matters. For example, using too many exclamation points in titles may get you more upvotes and comments in general, but it may also come off as unprofessional and juvenile. Don’t use italics or all caps (unless it’s part of an official title) without good reason.

Don’t Be Afraid To Cross Promote

You should also be willing to share links from other subreddits. You can cross-promote by posting an entry from another subreddit in a relevant subreddit. If you have an online business that caters to gaming, you could post about a recent indie game release on /r/gaming and encourage people playing it for hours on end to check out your website for new headsets. Be sure that anything you do cross-promote is relevant and interesting. Also, if it’s not clear, provide a brief summary of what you are trying to advertise with #ad before linking so that readers don’t feel scammed by seeing random material they weren’t anticipating.

Do Some Research On Which Subreddits Are Suitable For Your Business

Think about what it is that you are offering and what kinds of people might be interested in that. It’s likely you already have a good idea, but maybe not; think about how much information people need before they could be convinced to buy from you. Make a list of subreddits that might fit well with your product or service. Sometimes it's good to start small and post on smaller subreddits for a while before moving up, where as sometimes jumping right into more popular subbed can give greater exposure. Do some research on what kind of responses other posts got in these subreddits, so you get an idea of whether it might be worth trying out yourself.

Know How Many Users There Are In A Subreddit

Before you even consider starting a discussion in a subreddit, look at its subscriber count. If there aren’t any subscribers, then you probably shouldn’t post there yet. It’s not very likely that no one is interested in what you have to say. Instead, it’s more likely that few people know about your subreddit—that is, if it has no subscribers at all! Building an engaged following takes time, so be patient and promote yourself within subreddits over a long period of time before expecting people to flood into them on their own. You can find a list of subreddits by typing reddit [your topic] into Google. So for example: reddit marketing.

Conclusion

Redditors are smart. Your content needs to be amazing. Redditors are skeptical by nature; they’re constantly bombarded with ads on other sites, and that skepticism is often mirrored in their approach to ads they see on Reddit as well. This makes a good ad even more important: you need it to stand out from everything else in order for it to be effective. The good news is that there’s plenty of advice out there about what makes for a great Reddit ad, including Reddit’s own recommendations . When it comes down to it, however, there really isn’t a recipe for success—the best advice anyone can give you is simply give them something worth clicking!

How to become a successful reddit marketer in 5 minutes

How to become a successful reddit marketer in 5 minutes

How to become a successful reddit marketer in 5 minutes

Reddit has over 100 million users, and it’s one of the best places to market your business online. As a result, marketers flock to the platform, often with little success. If you want to become successful on Reddit as a marketer, you need to do more than just submit links or start threads where you ask questions like how do I market my business? Here are 5 specific ways that you can use Reddit to become the authority in your niche and masterfully market your products or services at the same time.

Find Your Subreddit

If you’re serious about Reddit, start by finding your target audience. Use Google to find subreddits that fit your brand and start reading. For example, if you’re trying to sell dog food, find subreddits where people are talking about dogs, like r/dogs or r/pets. If you have trouble finding them on your own, try searching for something along the lines of best subreddit marketing—this will likely lead you down some blind alleys as well as offering insights on what works and what doesn’t.

Post Pictures That Get Upvotes

Posting pictures on Reddit will most likely get upvotes. Just think about it—why do people spend hours of their day posting things, or creating content just to post it on social media sites? Because they want their content viewed and shared by others. When you post pictures that are visually appealing, they usually result in more upvotes. The same goes for other visual mediums such as gifs, videos and infographics. If you have something visually impressive, share it with redditors; chances are it’ll get more attention than an average textual post would.

Understand What Makes Content Go Viral

It’s tempting to sit down and hammer out content you think will resonate with your audience. But even if you do produce well-written, engaging material—which is not guaranteed—that doesn’t guarantee an influx of traffic or sales. Why? You have no control over what will make content go viral. If it were that easy, everyone would be rich and famous overnight. The real secret is understanding why certain pieces of content take off while others fall flat. This may seem like a mystery, but there are some clear-cut ways you can identify viral content before it happens—and use that knowledge for your own advantage .

Offer Something People Will Pay For

Don’t try and sell Redditors on your brilliant idea for a t-shirt. They won’t care. They aren’t interested in free advertising. (Well, most of them aren’t.) Instead, offer something people are actually willing to spend money on: an eBook, software, etc. You could use Reddit Ads to promote your product or service and turn subreddit visits into customers who buy from you . Even if you don't have any products or services available for sale right now, you can offer something valuable—it doesn't have to be free. If your content is good enough, people will be happy just clicking through their Reddit app instead of going elsewhere online.

Create Quality Content On A Regular Basis

Having quality content is what matters when it comes to succeeding on Reddit. You need to create quality content regularly if you want people to stick around, upvote your posts and comment on them as well. This can take time and might not result in immediate success but it will definitely pay off once you get enough followers and engagement. Make sure that your content is authentic and interesting otherwise people won’t be willing or able to share or interact with it.

Conclusion

Marketing on Reddit is fun, if you keep your expectations low. The problem with Reddit’s marketing potential is that it just isn’t scalable—you can only focus on so many threads at once, and there are lots of people doing exactly what you’re doing (talking about your product). But don’t be dissuaded: As long as you understand how things work and can manage your efforts effectively, Reddit is a great way to drive awareness and interest for whatever it is you want to promote.

10 Best Marketing Subreddits You Should Join in 2022

10 Best Marketing Subreddits You Should Join in 2022

10 Best Marketing Subreddits You Should Join in 2022

Reddit can be an extremely valuable source of information and support if you are running your own business. In addition to the various market-specific subreddits, there are also general marketing-related ones as well, allowing you to both learn new things about your business and also receive useful feedback from other professionals in the industry. Here are 10 of the best marketing subreddits that you should join in 2022 if you haven’t already done so.

1) Create your own subreddit

While Reddit is known as a social network, it’s also a thriving community of like-minded people sharing information and sparking conversation. If you have a passion for marketing and are looking to build an audience, then why not start your own Reddit? There’s no better place than to share your unique insights with people who are already interested. Plus, now that self posts can be posted as links on r/popular (along with r/all), there’s no better time than now! Here are 10 subreddits dedicated to marketing you should know about

2) Promote it to gain subscribers

Reddit is a fantastic resource for marketers, and it’s growing by leaps and bounds every year. The subreddit that’s most important to you depends on your business niche—but here are 10 marketing subreddits that are worth your time. Set up profiles on each, post relevant content whenever possible (try to get at least 1 post per week out of each), comment when you have something relevant to say or ask questions when you don’t know something, and show a genuine interest in their conversation. Redditors will be able to tell if you’re just trying to spam them—and they won’t like it one bit.

3) Come up with a topic everyone can contribute to

To be honest, if you really want to make a splash on reddit, it’s important to find a topic that can inspire people from all different backgrounds and walks of life. The beauty of reddit is that every person who logs on is a potential user of your product. If you’re targeting a specific audience then target subreddits that are devoted to that particular niche and craft your discussion around them. There will always be users looking for new ways to improve their work efficiency and others who are interested in new technology.

4) Look at the top posts of all time

These subreddits have already proven their value to marketers and should be on your radar. I would also recommend joining all of these, but if you’re short on time, at least try to get a feel for how active they are (by looking at recent posts). To save you some time, here’s a list of 12 marketing-related subreddits that are worth joining: /r/marketing /r/buzzfeedmarketing /r/advertising /r/internetmarketing101 /r/smallbusiness /r/prblogs /r/influencermarketing

5) Pay attention to what is being upvoted

Reddit has upvoting and downvoting features that can give you a better idea of what people are interested in on Reddit. It's important to see what is being upvoted so you know what types of posts to make. Pay attention to posts related to marketing, PR, strategy and other business-related fields. This will help you learn about your target audience and give you ideas for topics for your own content. To get a better understanding of how Redditors think about your niche, it's also helpful to look at subreddits that are outside of marketing or business.

6) Curate content around specific topics

One of our favorite places to gather content is Reddit. Reddit can be a scary place if you don’t know what you’re doing, but it’s still a source of great content. The trick to using Reddit as a resource for curating information is knowing where to go and who to follow. We use subreddits specific to particular marketing topics, such as SEO and affiliate marketing. We like using relevant subreddits because they allow us to connect with other marketers who have similar interests and questions, which is useful if we ever have an issue that requires some additional research or advice on social media channels. If you haven’t tried browsing Reddit before, now might be a good time to get started!

7) Tag people you’d like to see contributing content

Chris Anderson, Joe Pulizzi, Todd Defren and Brian Honigman. . . along with title as an additional tag. This is all about joining your own team! My team will be all about innovation and marketing strategy. We will use Reddit as a crowdsourcing channel for new content ideas. I’m already planning my first launch! The target audience? Content marketers that want to break into something new. What topic should we discuss? A step-by-step guide to creating your own crowdfunded business. Also, some sections you can write: How To Find Ideas For Crowdfunding, How To Promote Your Campaign, What Are The Rewards, etc.

8) Keep up with good ideas and news items on subreddits you frequent.

Reddit is an extremely useful resource when it comes to staying up-to-date on specific industries and skill sets. There are many subreddits that feature articles or news items relevant to marketers. Many of these subreddits are relatively small with fewer than 5,000 subscribers, so they won’t inundate your feed with useless information. If you want to make sure you stay on top of your game in marketing, make sure you check out some of these 10 marketing subreddits below. These subreddits can help market experts stay current on everything from social media trends to new tools

9) Build relationships with moderators. They often have content control over their subreddits.

Reddit is composed of a number of smaller subcommunities known as subreddits. These are forums with their own rules, users, moderators and so on. If you build relationships with these moderators (which is easy to do since they're users just like you), you can post your marketing content there without being banned for being a spammer. This will get your brand in front of some potentially valuable eyeballs without having to pay for it. For example, if you sell personal computers and are targeting IT pros who spend time on Reddit, then r/techsupport might be a good place to share helpful articles about computers.

10) Create a useful resource

Take a look at your niche and think about how you can contribute to it. What kinds of information, resources, or tools would be helpful to others? Sometimes, it can be hard to think of anything that hasn’t already been covered. Luckily, there are plenty of sites out there that specialize in identifying these gaps in valuable content and providing prompts for ways to fill them. If you’re an online marketer or social media expert who regularly posts useful advice and tips on Facebook or Twitter, consider joining forces with one of these sites by contributing one piece every month—or even just sharing their content through your networks.

Conclusion

There’s an ongoing debate among professionals in marketing, content marketing, and SEO about which marketing-related subreddits are most valuable. It’s nearly impossible to sort through it all when you’re just getting started; however, we can help. In compiling a list of the best marketing subreddits you should join in 2022, I tried to cover both general subreddits that anyone can participate in as well as more niche groups. My hope is that these will act as good places for you to get ideas for your own content creation campaigns and provide some motivation for continuing your participation on Reddit. Happy Redditing!

How to get massive traffic from reddit in just 8 minutes

How to get massive traffic from reddit in just 8 minutes

Reddit, or the front page of the internet, has become one of the most powerful sites on the web and the source of massive traffic for many sites and businesses. If you have to ask yourself how to get traffic from reddit then I’m glad you’re here and will show you what you need to do in order to effectively drive massive amounts of traffic from reddit in just 8 minutes without any experience. Let’s get started!

Choose a highly relevant subreddit

Go to Reddit and find a niche subreddit that might be interested in your post. If you are an entrepreneur, for example, then maybe check out /r/entrepreneur or /r/business. Or if you’re a designer, try /r/design. This will help you avoid getting flagged as spam by Redditors who hate self-promotion. Make sure that there isn’t already a thread about what you want to share (and be sure it's not too similar) and then simply respond to someone else’s post (just a simple Yeah! I couldn't agree more! works great). Only share content that is valuable and relevant and only share once; comments like Great post!

Don’t be scared to publish links

Redditors hate self-promotion—and any blatant marketing could result in getting banned from an entire subreddit. However, there are a few things you can do to market yourself without being too aggressive. Link to your own content sparingly, and try linking it with other posts that support your argument or include statistics or images related to your topic. When you do decide to link your own content, ensure that it’s relevant and that there is no way Redditors could interpret it as spam. Making even a small comment after posting something is also good practice: It helps people know who you are and makes them more likely to read what you’ve posted.

Use images where possible

When you share content on Reddit, you have only a few seconds to convince people that your content is worth looking at. To do that, make sure that it’s clear, interesting and/or funny. And since about 60% of Reddit users access it through their phones or tablets, posting an image-rich submission is crucial. Studies show that viewers are likely to stay on a page with an image for three times longer than they would if it didn’t contain one; some research has even suggested higher click-through rates for links accompanied by images (48%) than links without them (21%). The takeaway? Make sure your posts aren’t text-only: Images matter more than ever on Reddit, so don’t miss out!

Keep it short

Most redditors are busy and don’t have time for long content—short link your URL. If you want to try and generate some backlinks or referrals, share a link that directs readers elsewhere with an appropriate comment (like I thought you might like X. Here it is: Y). As redditors become more familiar with your content, they’ll be more likely to click through on links in your comments (as opposed to a URL link above). Once they start clicking, you can send them deeper into your site for even more value.

Do your research about the topic

First, I had to learn about Reddit. How does it work? What are Subreddits? The more you know about a platform before trying to market yourself on it, the better your chances will be of success. Remember: If you don’t put in time and effort learning how something works and figuring out how you can add value, then no one else will either! Read articles such as A Complete Beginner’s Guide To Reddit by The Huffington Post or watch videos like Reddit AMA: Everything You Need To Know About This Game-Changing Social Platform! on Social Media Examiner. Do whatever it takes to understand both what Reddit is and why people use it. (This should take up most of your time)

Use good quality text with correct spelling and grammar

The first thing any redditor will notice when reading your submission is whether or not you took time to spellcheck and proofread. It’s a simple but important detail that could make or break your chances of getting upvoted by a stranger on an online forum. Even if you are using a free account, it’s worth taking 15 seconds to run your text through Grammarly before hitting submit. This tool will catch most spelling errors and provide quick explanations for grammar mistakes, saving you precious time as well as giving other users confidence in your content. The more upvotes you get, the higher your post rises and makes it easier for others to find it; getting quality feedback can be useful even if there aren’t many comments since those votes indicate popularity.

Post as many relevant links as you can

Reddit is a numbers game. Each time you post on a subreddit, you want as many eyes as possible looking at your link. So include several links with each submission and be sure to check each post's individual page for links that are appropriate to additional subreddits or other websites. If you’re looking for inspiration, here are some subreddits related to blogging: /r/blogging , /r/contentmarketing , /r/seo .

Repost your link on different days and times

Post your link on Reddit at different times and on different days of the week. If you have a slow-loading website, wait until nighttime when people are less active online. Before posting your links, read through Reddit's sidebar to see if there are any special rules or guidelines you should know about. The community won't like it if you use inappropriate words, post irrelevant material or break any other rules--and they'll let you know! Experiment with different headlines: The headline is one of your most powerful tools when trying to generate traffic from Reddit. The more enticing it is, the more people will be likely to click on it and visit your site.

Conclusion

Reddit has always been a great source of free traffic and leads, but many new marketers don’t understand how it works. Today I’m going to show you exactly how I was able to drive 700+ organic visitors to my site within an hour or so by using reddit. If you would like more information on Reddit marketing and how you can start getting high quality backlinks, click here . This is why I love SEO because of its pay-it-forward nature; one person makes something awesome and gives it away for free for everyone else (users) and gets rewarded for their creation via links/traffic/exposure/clicks etc. That’s really cool!

How Reddit became one of the most popular websites in less than 10 years

How Reddit became one of the most popular websites in less than 10 years

How Reddit became one of the most popular websites in less than 10 years

Reddit, often called the front page of the internet, has slowly but surely become one of the most popular websites on the internet in less than 10 years. If you’re wondering how Reddit grew so quickly, you’re not alone. The company has over 164 million unique visitors per month and it’s one of the top 20 most visited websites in the world. With such popularity, there are many useful marketing tactics you can implement to take advantage of Reddit’s audience without sacrificing your integrity or your reputation.

Key Takeaways

Successfully marketing a website relies on many moving parts. One element that is critical for almost any business is having a well-crafted social media strategy in place, but how does one go about creating one? The following are three simple ways to create an effective social media marketing plan that will help you better reach your audience. 1) Create a Social Media Marketing Plan. Prioritize your needs and interests before creating a budget around those needs. 2) Make Your Social Media Unique and Meaningful to You. Always ask yourself why you’re using each platform; it’s easy to get caught up with what everyone else is doing and lose sight of your own goals and interests, but resist that urge as much as possible!

Why is this guide useful?

A lot has changed since 2010. A site that used to be known mostly for its adorable cat pictures and fiery political debates is now a sprawling collection of interest boards, each with their own culture and fiercely loyal userbase. If you're interested in expanding your marketing strategy, but aren't sure where to start, look no further: In our guide, we'll break down how you can use reddit to engage with potential customers, grow an audience for your brand, and get feedback on your product idea. No matter what stage of business you're at, reddit is bound to help. Here's how

What’s a subreddit?

A subreddit is a community inside of reddit based around a specific topic. If you check out our list of subreddits you’ll find there are many sub communities focused on everything from computers to politics to cat pictures. When you subscribe to a subreddit, you can join conversations and submit content that are relevant to your interests. Subreddits are not moderated by site administrators—they’re moderated by users like yourself who volunteer their time for free. There is only so much that site administrators can do to manage such an active community and so it’s up to you as a user to decide what types of content belong in each subreddit. Do you want r/politics or r/news? It’s up to you!

Posting on reddit

Reddit is a website with over 20 million unique visitors, and over 1 billion page views per month. While reddit started out as an online bulletin board system, similar to Digg or Fark, it has evolved into a powerful discussion forum. Unlike other forums, each post on reddit is more like an individual webpage; users can vote posts up or down to help determine which stories and discussions are seen by other members. Additionally, members can subscribe to subreddits they are interested in (similar to lists on delicious) to ensure that their favorite topics always appear at the top of their home page. Here are some tips for marketing your business successfully on reddit

Submitting on subreddits

If you’re looking to get some attention for your marketing campaign, submitting to a relevant subreddit is a great place to start. Many subreddits accept original content from marketers and business owners; others only allow text posts that link back to an external page on your site. Submitting to reddit can give you an instant community that’s invested in what you have to say—and who are more likely to share it with their own communities. Just make sure that any links included in your post go directly back to your website. Submitting a direct link will guarantee traction with potential customers, but submitting a linked piece of content hosted elsewhere could land you some serious reddit karma points (read: no upvotes).

Resubmitting Submissions

Many users are unaware that you can resubmit your content on reddit. Submitting multiple times is encouraged to increase exposure, especially if you notice a decrease in views (popular posts will often fluctuate). Subreddits such as r/AdviceAnimals and r/pics allow you to resubmit by simply adding a lowercase t onto their existing subreddit. For example, r/relationships would become r/relationshipsT. This saves you time and makes sure your post doesn’t end up on top posts of all time which often gets removed by mods.

Keeping track of your success using Analytics

Get familiar with Google Analytics and use it to track your site traffic. If you aren’t familiar with Google Analytics, get on board now! It’s a free tool that gives you access to a lot of valuable information about your website and is used by sites like Mashable and Forbes. And if you haven’t already signed up for Google Analytics, do so immediately; they just changed their terms-of-service policy to make GA free for personal blogs. You can also try out some other paid or free tools, but from what I’ve seen most beginner bloggers stick with GA simply because it’s easy and reliable. Track how much traffic each post gets in order to see which topics are more popular and write more posts about those topics.

Conclusion

According to various reddit user statistics and news, reddit has been one of the most influential sites for more than a decade. As per study published by webanalytics, it is estimated that around 234 million people visited reddit as on November 2016. It was previously estimated that approximately 150 million active users visit it every month which accounts to 35% percent of all adults online. Although majority visitors only read posts and articles on reddit without actually making any contributions but approximately 80,000 contributors post links, text and images daily. There are various strategies can be used for effective marketing with specific emphasis on content quality which includes interactions between subreddits.

How to Drive a Ton of Free Traffic from Reddit

How to Drive a Ton of Free Traffic from Reddit

How to Drive a Ton of Free Traffic from Reddit

You’ve probably heard that Reddit has some of the best free traffic available, and you may have even tried it out yourself. But if you haven’t seen much success with it yet, it’s probably because you haven’t taken advantage of all the tools at your disposal on this platform that allows you to target potential customers so precisely and effortlessly. Read on to learn how to drive a ton of free traffic from Reddit, including five effective tips and strategies you can use right away to help improve your success rate.

Build an account

First, make sure you read through and understand Reddit’s content policy . What kinds of posts are considered spam? Don’t do anything that would cause your account to be banned. In addition, ensure you have a catchy title for your profile so people will want to click on it in search results. Once you’ve got an account going, check out /r/betterwithpics or /r/dataisbeautiful for inspiration. Then make some killer graphics ( Imgur is free). Finally, find subreddits with relevant communities. Reddit makes it easy to spot them: just check out what shows up when you go to www . reddit . com/domain/. For example, if I type bloggersapprentice . com into my browser I see a community called /r/thisishowyoublewit as well as subreddits about blogging and start-ups. Find interesting news articles relevant to your industry , turn them into attractive graphics with captions , and post them in relevant subreddits.

Learn the lingo

Before you start posting on Reddit, familiarize yourself with all its major lingo and conventions. Knowing what OP (original poster) or I Am A (I am a) stands for, is just as important as knowing what sub-reddits are relevant to your interests. There are more than enough resources online that can teach you how Reddit works, but before diving in make sure you have mastered some of these basics. The better understanding you have of how Reddit works, and most importantly why it works that way, will help inform everything else you do when trying to drive traffic from it.

Post on Subreddits relevant to your niche

What you want to do is post your content on subreddits that are relevant. The first thing you should know is that not all subreddits are created equal. In fact, some cater more towards marketing and others towards community building. If your goal is more brand-building, then stick with subreddits such as /r/smallbusiness, /r/startups or /r/entrepreneur; they’re very open and welcoming to self-promotion if it’s in context (more on that later). But if you want more engagement with your readers, try communities like /r/blog or /r/infotainment; their audience tends to be less receptive towards spammy content since they have their own blogs or websites already.

Comment on related posts

Reddit is home to thousands of niche communities, known as subreddits. Each one is devoted to an individual topic and could be your key to reaching tens or even hundreds of thousands of people who share a common interest in your content. You can find relevant subreddits through searching or by browsing popular subreddit lists (which often serve as community-vetted recommendations for new redditors). Here’s how it works: go here, click on new, and create an account. Now that you're in, look for other posts related to yours - click on their comments and upvote them until you hit gold. When you get there, comment on those posts linking back to your own content. It will show up on their page and drive more traffic back!

Engage in conversations with readers

When you contribute valuable information, don’t expect anything in return. Although Reddit might be intimidating at first, it has a community feel and provides a great opportunity for meaningful relationships that can drive traffic back to your site. The key is to participate and genuinely engage with others. If you are self-promoting too much, others will notice and often downvote your posts or report them as spam—Reddit users are not interested in promoting other people’s content. Be genuine with your contributions and provide value first before asking for something in return. Be sure to participate in conversations related to your niche by commenting on answers, offering advice and suggestions when appropriate and also ask questions when you don’t understand certain aspects of discussions taking place on subreddits that you visit regularly.

Advertise in subreddits

Targeted advertising on Reddit can be an incredibly effective way to reach your target market and drive targeted traffic back to your site. There are two main options: promoted posts and banner ads. Promoted posts are placed at the top of relevant subreddits, while banner ads run along either side of content pages and link out directly to external sites. The difference is that you can adjust or cancel your ad anytime, meaning you can try different strategies without much risk—just keep in mind there’s no guarantee anyone will click on it. Banners also have less impact than promoted posts, since they sit along side other content instead of being featured at its top—but you get more impressions for every dollar spent, which helps if you’re looking for exposure instead of direct sales.

Do Ask Me Anything (AMA)

The idea behind an AMA is simple: someone with a bit of knowledge on a particular subject (let's say, like, cars) creates an AMA post stating that they'll be available for questions for an hour or so. Anyone interested in cars can tune in and ask them anything; it might not be as good as getting advice from your local mechanic, but it's more than nothing. AMAs tend to drive traffic and can even lead to media coverage if you have something interesting or newsworthy to say. An AMA is fairly easy to execute; just create an account and submit your proposed post on their /r/AMA subreddit, and once approved users will find out that you're available for questions within 24 hours or so. The biggest takeaway?

Start commenting on other subreddits

Before you can drive traffic to your website, you need people visiting your website. You need targeted traffic that’s interested in what you have to say or offer. The best way to get targeted visitors—visitors that are likely already interested in what you have—is by submitting links where they already hang out: other subreddits. Remember, as we covered before: Commenting is one of those things that’s easier said than done. But with practice, it gets a lot easier.

Conclusion

There are several ways to drive traffic for free using Reddit and you should try all of them, but you have to be very careful when playing with people’s emotions. What works one day might not work another, so make sure that you continually test out new ideas, monitor your success and stay up-to-date on what is working for other people. The most important thing about driving traffic from reddit is not allowing it to become black hat as soon as someone figures out how it can be done. Once reddit bans an approach then everyone else will follow suit if they see their competition still taking advantage of it. So make sure that you keep an eye on what other subreddits are doing and use common sense when figuring out if something will get your account banned.

10 Ways to Grow Your Reddit Community

10 Ways to Grow Your Reddit Community

10 Ways to Grow Your Reddit Community

Reddit, an extremely popular social media site, can be used to promote your business and reach new customers. However, unlike other social media platforms, Reddit has its own culture and language that can be tricky to navigate at first. But don’t worry! Read on to learn the 10 tips you need to grow your Reddit community and connect with like-minded individuals online.

1) Write quality content

One of my favorite rules for blogging is: Say something new, say it well, and get it in front of as many eyeballs as possible. That's even more important when you're just starting out. The easiest way to build your community is to create content that your existing audience loves (and will want to share with their friends). And that means getting really good at one thing: creating awesome content.

2) Use the subreddits sidebar

When you’re creating a post on Reddit, one of your best bets for getting a lot of exposure is to use as many subreddits as possible. There are thousands of subreddits, each with its own audience that may or may not overlap with other subs. Browse them and see which ones seem like they might be relevant to your content. Adding several relevant ones to your post is an easy way to expose it to new eyes and make it more likely that someone will upvote it!

3) Post often

Posting frequently is one of your best opportunities for connecting with new people and growing your community. You can post as often as you want, but schedule in some time each day or week to put together a new post. This will make it easier for visitors to see something fresh on your site when they stop by, which is especially important if you're looking for that initial traction. As a rule of thumb, I recommend posting at least once every weekday and try not to wait more than seven days between posts.

4) Be real

It’s easy to be fake online. It’s hard not to have a persona and try to maintain it. By being real you establish trust with your audience and they grow as a result of that. Find out what makes them tick. What motivates them? Why do they continue coming back? How can you get more people like them? Once you know what they want, give it to them in a unique way that has never been done before and nobody will ever forget you.

5) Answer all questions in a timely manner

If someone asks you a question on a post, answer it! On Reddit, your answer will be voted up or down based on its quality. You want to get as many up votes as possible so people know that you're a helpful member of their community. The fastest way to grow your Reddit community is by showing other members that you're already part of their community and are there for them when they need help.

6) Create new posts or comment on old ones every day

Keeping your profile active is one of the easiest ways to grow a strong, vibrant community. There’s something magical about daily communication, even if it’s just a good morning post at 10 am EST. Keep your users engaged on a daily basis with questions and new posts that they can comment on and respond to. You might also find success by asking questions that you want answered. If you can get users involved in discussions every day or every week, you’ll foster an atmosphere of camaraderie that makes people feel like they are part of a real community instead of just checking in occasionally for updates.

7) Share other’s ideas as much as possible

There are so many great ideas on reddit. If you want your content to succeed and build community, share other people’s content and ideas as much as possible. When you share someone else’s link, that person gets a notification of your post that they can upvote or downvote. This results in karma and in turn popularity of your post/content. Do it all over reddit as often as possible! Think of it like word-of-mouth marketing where everyone is your friend who raves about your product (content). Don’t always take a self-serving approach – sharing others thoughts/ideas first will help spread awareness about what you have to offer second. You never know who might find something helpful or interesting for them through another redditor!

8) Become an active mod and curator of your subreddit.

The first thing you should do is establish a profile on reddit and make yourself an active moderator of your subreddit. Become friendly with your community. In some cases, if you do not already know what kind of subreddit that you want to moderate, it might be helpful for you to browse other subreddits for a bit. This will give you an idea of which type of community would fit well with your desired goals. You may also consider checking out /r/SubredditOfTheDay, which showcases one subreddit every day in order to show other redditors what a wide variety of subreddits are available. Many new moderators begin their journey by doing exactly that: discovering multiple subreddits and exploring them before deciding which one(s) they would like to moderate themselves.

9) Maintain friendly relationships with other subreddits.

If you’re really lucky, there are other subreddits that have similar goals as yours. That might be a great opportunity for cross-posting and collaboration. If you’re not so lucky, consider reaching out and building a relationship with another subreddit so that when you do have opportunities for cross-promotion or collaboration, you already have a mutually beneficial relationship in place. Regardless of whether your subreddit is linked with others or not, at least one other redditor needs to be active on your submission in order for it to take off. Cross posting can help bring attention from other redditors who wouldn’t normally see your submission and lead them to engage with you!

10) Engage, engage, engage!

People love reading posts from other people in similar situations as them. If you're a young attorney, for example, try writing about problems you see with law school or issues you've had that could have been solved by an attorney but weren't because of inexperience. Engaging with your target audience will increase your chances of being upvoted and help others. Always be sure to include a personal story in any post you create on reddit!

Conclusion

Whether you’re an individual trying to build your own brand or a company looking for new ways to get in front of potential customers, there are plenty of opportunities on reddit. Here are 10 tips for successfully promoting yourself on reddit and growing your community. Best of

How to Increase Your Reddit Karma 10 Times Faster

How to Increase Your Reddit Karma 10 Times Faster

Reddit Karma

If you’re like most redditors, you’ve probably tried to increase your karma many times over, but haven’t had any luck. Your first piece may have gotten some attention from fellow redditors, but after that, it seems as though your posts are falling on deaf ears. Fortunately, there are things you can do to increase your reddit karma in record time and make the whole process easier, too! This article will outline how to increase your karma 10 times faster by taking advantage of subreddits, voting patterns, and posting schedules.

Targeted Subreddits

Before posting something on reddit you should find a subreddit that your content is appropriate for. You can find subreddits using their subreddit search or using their advanced search. Both of these searches will allow you to narrow down subreddits by subscriber count, language, and subreddit type which makes it easier for you to fit in. The best way to make sure your post gets upvotes is by finding a high-traffic subreddit with people who are interested in what you have posted. If your post ends up in an unpopular or irrelevant subreddit then it will quickly fall off of everyone's radar and won't get any further attention from anyone.

Use Multiple Subreddits

When posting on Reddit, it’s a good idea to create accounts for multiple subreddits. This allows you to post in smaller communities which may have less subscribers but will be more engaged than larger subreddits. Also consider signing up for some of your favorite subreddits as well as some that are relevant to your interests and business. If you do decide to use multiple accounts, make sure you link them all to one account so that they share karma!

Post in These Time Periods

These Time Periods Are When Most People Sleep and Least People are Online : The best time of day to post on reddit is between 9pm and 12am, although you’ll also see a slight spike in activity between 2pm and 3pm. And when you post on reddit, don’t worry about proper timing because your post will automatically get pushed out at least three hours no matter what time you submit it. Just make sure that your content is relevant for that hour of day; for example, posting about grilling recipes during work hours probably won’t be well received by most redditors. Use these statistics wisely when formulating a content plan or deciding whether a particular topic will resonate with people at different times of day.

Crafting an Attention Grabbing Title

Whenever you submit a link on reddit, your title will be one of your first lines of defense against sinking into obscurity. Make sure it's succinct and grabs attention (but doesn't use ALL CAPS). Give people a reason to click on your post by including a question or an intriguing statement in your title. Quotes are also great ways to make your title stand out—as long as they aren't ripped from elsewhere! Be careful not to confuse quoting with plagiarism, though; you can usually get away with paraphrasing someone's comment by giving them credit in parentheses at end of quote.

Post a Meme

We know what you’re thinking: How can posting memes possibly help you get more karma? Truth is, it probably won’t. On a serious note, however, sharing images with your audience can increase engagement and foster discussion. In other words, if you share an image that sparks a debate about Islamophobia or sexism in society , for example, users might comment on your post. That's where your chance for increased karma comes in. Other redditors will be watching your user activity in order to upvote or downvote future posts—so as long as you continue posting good content, people will come back for more.

Read the comments before posting

Remember, on reddit—as in life—you get what you give. When you post a comment, it’s not only your text that can make or break your karma: The quality of your reply is just as important as what you have to say. When commenting on a thread, make sure to read through other comments first (we promise they won’t bite). Take note of which questions people have and try to answer one that hasn’t been addressed yet. Also take note of where people disagree and join in with a measured response rather than siding with an already established opinion.

Grab people’s attention quickly

This tip is going to sound like common sense, but I’ve seen many posts on reddit that fail to do exactly that. Readers don’t just jump onto any old post—they carefully examine each submission and decide whether or not it has a high chance of being relevant for them. If you want people to read your content, be sure that you open with something interesting and appealing. Try using an eye-catching title or an attention-grabbing question in your first paragraph; both will make readers more likely to click through (as long as you follow up with something worthwhile). Finally, make sure that your post includes a summary, even if it is brief.

Customize your header image as necessary

Upload a high-quality image of your choosing, but make sure it’s unique and professional so you look like a legitimate person. You can also upload an image that clearly identifies who you are. This helps engage with people in conversations who already know who you are. Write an introduction paragraph as necessary: If you have a large following on another platform or if you have been living under a rock for the past decade, chances are good that people will recognize your username right away. In some cases, it might be better not to hide your identity because readers will naturally flock toward recognizable names they already know and respect. If they don’t know who you are from somewhere else, then it makes sense to include an introduction paragraph at first that says something like Hi!

Conclusion

For a long time, I tried all sorts of different ways to increase my karma and my readership on reddit. While I did get better at it over time, it was never quite what I wanted. But then, one day while perusing reddit with my girlfriend (yes! she knows about reddit) she asked me a question that changed everything for me: Do you want people reading your posts, or do you want people upvoting your posts?

Reddit Marketing Tips - How to Use Reddit for Content Marketing 2022

Reddit Marketing Tips - How to Use Reddit for Content Marketing 2022

Reddit Marketing Tips - How to Use Reddit for Content Marketing 2022

Reddit can be one of the most powerful social media sites on the web to use for your marketing strategy. Reddit’s user base of nearly 250 million users is one of the biggest online and they spend an average of over 15 minutes on the site every day according to 2014 statistics by Quantcast. For marketers, that’s plenty of time to reach out to potential customers with your product or service if you know how to do it right and here are some useful tips on how to use Reddit to market your business effectively.

Start by using the right tools

To get started with a content marketing strategy on Reddit, you’ll want to use an app that makes it easy to monitor, and interact with, your subreddits. Here are some of our favorites: TheRedditSocial : This free browser extension creates a panel in your browser that helps you keep track of new comments, up-votes and discussion topics. Plus, it has a handy social sharing function so you can post links from any site directly onto Reddit with one click. A great way of getting used to what works best within each community without risking your reputation by posting without doing your research first!

Never, ever, ever promote a product you don’t believe in

People are very good at sniffing out fakes and you’ll be leaving a bad taste in their mouth if you’re acting purely out of self-interest. If it looks like you haven’t put any genuine effort into promoting something that you truly love, people will pass on your recommendations because they don’t feel as if they can trust your judgment. Even worse, they might feel as though you’re using them. Make sure that every product or service that you recommend is one that you believe in fully. You'll get better results when people know and trust your opinions—and find value in following them.

Choose a niche relevant subreddit

Select a niche relevant subreddit, such as /r/smallbusiness. If you can’t find a targeted subreddit, consider broadening your focus to a general topic like /r/marketing or /r/entrepreneur. Remember that quality content will be more successful than posting in an already-crowded space. You may have success with multiple subreddits, so test and see what works best!

Write something truly useful

Whether you’re posting as a member of your own company or just in your personal capacity, be sure that any content you submit is relevant, useful and beneficial. This means avoiding inside jokes, memes and clickbait headlines. It also means taking advantage of subreddits with smaller subscriber counts so that your posts are more likely to make it to page one. Ask yourself: Could someone not subscribed to Reddit benefit from reading my post? If they couldn't, don't post it. Post at times when your target audience will most likely be online (e.g., Monday evenings). Don't submit old content: reddit hates content resubmissions; users will downvote them immediately and a negative association may form in their mind about your brand or company.

Provide additional value through comments and links

Whether you link back to your site or not, it’s a good idea to comment and interact with people on Reddit. Engaging with other users builds goodwill, which is something that will ultimately benefit your business. Plus, if you’re posting original content, an active participation in discussions related to that content shows that you are an expert in your field. And who doesn’t want a little more reputation? It may seem like a lot of work at first—and yes, it takes some time and energy—but consider how much additional value you can offer by interacting directly with consumers. There's no better way to let them know exactly how awesome you are!

Include a link within your comment at the end

Social Samosa (article mentioned). Also, create a reference with your username as link at comment bottom right of above post. The social samosa is online/social news platform where people can share ideas, articles and videos that they find interesting and it creates a kind of social web content with social media in itself because users can interact with one another regarding content that's been shared on the site. This site is similar to Digg and Stumbleupon but more social in nature than other sites and thus earning popularity at a faster rate.

Stay away from negative topics

Reddit is not just a free-for-all like 4chan or other similar message boards. People who post negative comments on certain subreddits are usually ridiculed, ostracized, and banned from participating in those forums again. This applies to current events as well: while some subreddits allow discussion of world news and politics, others are strictly off limits. Keep your posts focused on providing value to others and you’ll have better luck finding an audience that appreciates your work.

Don’t spam keywords in comments

The moment you start spamming reddit comments with keywords, your post will be flagged by users. Instead, use natural language in comments on relevant threads and create high-quality content that follows Reddiquette guidelines. You can even ask questions or provide value first, making it easier to build up engagement over time. If a user upvotes your comment and provides valuable feedback, don’t hesitate to thank them (even if you disagree). It’s all about creating relationships on reddit! The more users like you, the better chance you have of getting exposure for your posts in different subreddits – especially if they provide value.

Conclusion

**Insert summary of points made** Reddit has long been one of my favorite marketing strategies, though it took me a while to figure out how best to utilize it. In fact, I was so slow on the uptake that it wasn’t until writing part 2 of my Buzzfeed marketing strategy guide that I ever even posted an original piece of content there. Long story short? This is an incredibly powerful tool at your disposal and should not be overlooked as an option any longer. If you're still on board with me, here are some tips

5 Powerful SEO Tips for Creating Killer Content

5 Powerful SEO Tips for Creating Killer Content

Powerful SEO Tips for Creating Killer Content

The web is a vital marketing tool for any business. While search engine optimization (SEO) can be complicated, your website needs to be optimized for the search engines or else it will be difficult to get found. In this article, we’ll explain some powerful SEO tips that will help you create killer content that gets found on Google and other top search engine results pages.

1. Write for humans, not search engines

When I write for my blog, I don’t think about search engines. I just think about my readers. The search engines will find you if you are relevant. Also, don’t keyword stuff. Your writing should be natural and authentic.

You don’t need to have an SEO strategy; you already have an audience. Treat your audience like your audience. When you are writing the SEO copy for your website and marketing material, focus on building your website that attracts visitors like ants to a garden. Keep it simple, stupid. Always include the keyword phrase as much as possible.

There’s no SEO tool as important as Google because it is the internet’s most powerful driver of traffic and ranking. Search engine optimization, or SEO, is the art of making your most important content (the one that could get you the most clients and sales) appear high on search engine results pages.

Google’s algorithm is network-based, so it does not favor one website over another. It gives credit to the quality of the content. A quality website that uses SEO the right way will get a lot of traffic, generate leads, and get to the top of Google search engine results (SERPs), being number one or three results above the rest.

The more content you publish and promote that explains your products or services in a way that is valuable and helpful to readers, the more likely they are to become your clients or sales. You can be sure Google is going to give you plenty of credit for the work you put into your SEO. Let’s dive into Google’s most important SEO tips. Here are some useful tips.

Google uses keywords in your content so that you can rank high for search phrases in your industry. Think of the search engine as the marketplace because you are competing with other websites.

2. Keep it short and sweet

Brevity wins the race. Twitter’s 140-character limit means you have to get right to the point. You only have a few words to make an impression, so make sure you use them wisely.

The format determines how your content will be perceived. What’s the first thing you read on your newsfeed? Go beyond the headlines.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Google favors content that has a sense of direction, guiding the reader to other pieces of content as it progresses.

Let get into some practical tips on how to write well for Google. When creating your content, always start with exactly one headline. Think of your content like a book — a phenomenal book starts with the first chapter.

It’s your goal to capture a reader's attention with your first title so you can continue further with your article. Here are some other tips to help you write compelling headlines.

Let’s say you write a new article promoting a product.

What you send next is likely to be more important than your article itself.

What’s your headline in this scenario? Simple: Why my product is the best out there.

Now, what can we do with this? You can produce the following headlines to make your Amazon sellers more believable.

The person who usually buys our products is more likely to buy if we explain why the product is the best out there.

What do these headlines also do? To open the reader’s mind. You don’t want them to struggle to understand what you’re saying. H1s help readers understand what the headline is about, while H2 helps them get to the core point.

Google favors content that is linked to other content, not just the article subject itself. Link your article right after your content and build your authority by bringing in external links to your content.

3. Use keywords wisely

Keywords are a great way to make sure your blog posts are found when people are searching for them. Keywords are words or phrases that people will search for when looking for information related to your niche. If your blog post makes use of some keywords, then you are in luck. Since the topic of your blog post is simply named, you’ll ensure that you appear near the top of the first page of Google search results when people type something into their search engine.

One of the major strategies that will help your blog post to appear near the top of Google’s results is by using relevant keywords. This is when you leverage the power of tags — long-tail keywords — to ensure your topic appears exactly where it’s intended.

Here’s a quick rundown of all the different types of keywords you can focus on:

Keywords are already tailored to the topic of your blog posts, so it’s important to focus on the most relevant, repetitive keywords in your niche field.

Since SEO is all about ranking high, focus on keywords that your audience would specifically use to find your articles if they — and search engines — were looking. Use this information to make sure you write content that makes your audience want to expand their search.

SEO of your blog is all about making sure you include the right keywords in your content, and that your work is 45 to 55 characters —that is just about possible—long enough to make a search engine happy.

There are three levels to your Google SEO Keyword Planner, which you can use to see exactly which keywords will help your post rank in a specific section of the search engine results page (SERP) and the number of keywords you should include to maximize your chances of being found and optimized.

4. Optimize your images

Optimize your images. This is an easy way to improve the look and feel of your blog. Use tools like Adobe Photoshop or Canva to resize, crop, and compress your images so that they load faster and look better on your blog.

A good image will help your web page rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs) as doing so will help people find your blog. An example of search engine SERPs is below — you can see the search for talking animals has increased by 28.98% with squid as the second most searched animal.

When optimizing your images, focus on three things — dimensions, colors, and white space. A great way to upload images is to use the Google Images embed code option and then upload and select the images you want to use.

For best results, use image SEO best practices like adding quality backlinks, adding metadata to your images, using alt tags so that search engines know what your images are all about, and using consistent alt text with keywords throughout your images.

SEO for images requires more effort and has a larger volume of Google searches worldwide than other content types, as search engines work backward from the image URL to come up with the best match. However, it is not that difficult to improve image SEO. Images should rank in the image macro list for their relevant keywords, in the content descriptions for their images, and at the end of their images for their respective categories. Make sure you use alt text that covers your keywords with anchor text using the alt tags in your images, so your images rank for them.

It is also important to note that subject matter (SEO) for images is similar to the subject matter for other content types — that is, you want to include potential keywords in the topic of your images. SOE’s and agencies can utilize open web images for marketing when optimizing their photos.

5. Make sure your content is relevant to the topic you’re discussing

If you’re writing an article, make sure your content is relevant to the topic you’re discussing. If readers feel like your content is just a sales pitch, they won’t trust you and you’ll lose them. If you’re discussing marketing, then it’s important that your content is relevant to marketing. This way you’ll attract more readers than your article would otherwise.

When writing, make sure your article is chronological. Think of your article as a movie — plot, characters, action, and climax all build-up to the big reveal at the end. Throughout the entire writing process, it’s important to be consistent.

Take time to think of all the amazing ways that your idea could be used. Be specific with your use case so that your readers can see how it could impact their business. For example, if you talk about how marketers can use influencers to pass traffic from social media to their website, introduce a specific influencer. Tell your reader how they can connect with that influencer and start their conversation.

When you think about your reader, ask yourself how they find out about your article. Are they social media users? Do they get it from Facebook or Instagram? Do they click on a link from your article? If you’ve done your work well, all your readers will quickly learn about your idea and have a reason to find your article.

Another way to find out about your readers is to find out how they find out about you. Imagine people having a conversation with you. If you can summarize their main takeaway from your article, you’ll have something that can help them further. This way, you’ll find out their interests, what topics they love, and what topics they dread. There’s even an app called StoryOrigin that will take all this information and turn your article into an article.

If you do everything right, your audience will know exactly what to expect out of your content.

5 Hidden SEO Strategies That Will Boost Your Rankings

5 Hidden SEO Strategies That Will Boost Your Rankings

Hidden SEO Strategies That Will Boost Your Rankings

If you’re wondering how to optimize your website for search engines, then you’re in the right place. Search engine optimization is a topic that confuses many. I’ve created this guide to help demystify it and give you three strategies that will boost your rankings and save time in the long run — all without breaking the bank.

1. Choose a search engine optimization strategy

Once you’ve chosen the best keyword for your business and have written the perfect content to complement that keyword, you need to figure out how you’re going to get that content in front of people who are searching for what you’re offering. The answer is search engine optimization (SEO). First, what is SEO? Seo stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is simply applying the right factors (known as ‘anchor’) to your content pieces to influence how people find them and interact with them.

SEO is about finding the right keywords that people are searching for to tackle the problems or opportunities they have around your topic of interest. A lot of people try to take the entire SEO process — building links, optimizing the content, and so on — and try to apply in one fell swoop and apply it to their entire blog as well. But it’s not necessarily so. It can actually take a while to figure out how to make it work for your connections, business, ideas, and so on, and once you have, you can, in fact, optimize your page for Google yourself.

When people search for a business, the goal is to find a page that answers the questions people have about it. People usually start looking for a listing of the businesses on a search engine, then they go to other search engines like Google and Yahoo to broaden their search to other areas for more results, and finally, they use Google’s search bar at the bottom of the page to find the page they are looking for.

Have you ever been searching for a product or service and found that you couldn’t find the answer you were looking for in the first few results that come up in your Google search? Guess what? That means Google thinks your site is not optimized for search. They don’t like sites with off-topic content, broken links, and so on.

2. Choose keywords that your customers will use to find your business

Keywords are the words and phrases that people use to find things on the internet. Every business needs to have keywords that people will use to find them. Keywords can be used to target your website or blog content to people searching for specific content ideas. Keywords vary based on a variety of factors, but usually include the following:

Most blogs have a list of keywords to use in their headlines. These could include the keyword needs or reader, suggested keywords, or just a general keyword.

Usually, the words and phrases entered in the blog headlines are not overly specific enough to target specific people likely to be searching for your content. So you’d need another strategy.

With every article, there’s an opportunity to develop a headline using elements from lists like this one to get readers interested: “10 Important Things To Know Before Starting Your Online Business.” Creating appropriate headlines based on your list of 170 or more keywords will help give people ideas to begin looking up your content. For instance, this article includes important keywords like online business, SEO, SEM, Google Ads, and blogging.

Using SEO: Keywords are the large, often long phrases or words that appear in your web pages or posts related to a specific topic. Using a combination of keywords, you create pages with topics or keywords centered on specific niches.

SEO: Search engine optimization (SEO) involves developing proven techniques and strategies to improve search engine visibility for your web pages, posts, and blogs. Today, SEO is closely related to content publishing.

Today you do not need to be a computer genius to take advantage of SEO. All you need is focus and practice. Keywords help drive traffic to your content.

SEO focus on specifics and the right keywords. You may also use things like the Google AI Rank Tracker.

3. Create a website that is user-friendly and allows search engines to index it easily

When you create a website, it’s important to make sure it’s user-friendly and allows search engines to index it easily. Make sure your website is mobile-friendly too since more and more traffic to websites is coming from mobile devices.

Before you can start targeting keywords with website SEO, you must first select the words you want to rank for. Keywords define your website’s subject matter as well as the topics found on your site. It allows website owners to highlight the topics or features their business is better at while giving visitors enough to choose from when they search for what’s on offer. By doing so, you can focus on creating compelling titles and descriptions for your website content so that users choose to be directed to the items tailored to their needs and click more.

What You’ll Need to Know: Keywords, how Google figures out your keywords, and the different types of ideas you can target.

With keywords in hand, you can now start to focus on creating awesome keywords. Without keywords, which require a bit of extra effort from you, that content won’t do you any favors in determining its ranking. How you target keywords on your website is also determined by your industry and niche. From there, you’ll decide which topic keywords you want to target as well as the keywords of your blog posts.

Here are three things to keep in mind when it comes to keyword research and optimizing your website for SEO:

Google’s official course website explains the importance of targeting keywords on a website based on how the site is structured and coded.

While it’s true that writing online is more than competitive, when you have a few keywords and phrases you think people might be interested in looking up, you’re on the right track.

4. Keep up with SEO best practices, such as adding new content and keeping pages updated

Keeping up with SEO best practices is crucial for ranking well on search engines. By creating new content and keeping old pages updated with fresh information, you can ensure that Google and other search engines keep crawling your site.

Ads (Noindex, meta, nofollow): Google can’t crawl or index something that doesn’t exist. It doesn’t matter if it’s a blog, product, or policy — if your site has no content, it lacks the specific authority your visitor needs to rank well for your niche. To make sure your website gets crawled and indexed, do the following:

Keyword Research: Optimizing keywords is important for many reasons. First, it’s the only way you can know what content to publish and how to rank it. Second, keyword research can save you significant time and money in your marketing efforts. Google spends eight million hours scanning the internet and ranking hundreds of billions of web pages. Research what your audience and competitors search for, then write content and add keywords in the right spots.

Meta (Title, Quora, h1): Things get complicated when you have more than one webpage. It takes time for Google to crawl, index, and process all of them. In order to genuinely optimize your website for search engines, you need to know where to put your website’s title, description, and meta information. To finish off this section, also include an alt text for each of your keywords, even if you’re just entertaining a query.

NoFollow: It’s your responsibility to Reddit, Digg, Feedly, StumbleUpon, and other directories to give your site some real visibility. It doesn’t work if Google or Bing miss out. Stop giving sites visibility by following their content styles, formats, lists, and writing trends.

Keyword Tool: Keyword Surfer™: Keep an eye on your page’s ranking. To see where on the page your webpage is ranked (from 1–100), you need to look at the search volume rankings (above).

5. Use social media and other online resources to promote your website

Social media and other online resources are great ways to promote your website. Many social media networks offer free platforms that can help you promote your website. Social media is a great way to meet new people, make new connections, and get your website seen by a wider audience.

Tip: To amplify your social media efforts, use trending hashtags in your niche.

Headline: Image SEO For Small Businesses In most cases, images on your site are the main source of traffic. Image SEO, though, is more than simply optimizing images on your site. It’s about using images strategically to attract search engines because search engines won’t show image results that aren’t relevant to your keywords. To do so, you’re going to have to remove the image that’s posing as the keyword.

Social media headlines on your website are probably already optimized, but you’ll want to keep it that way. Try to avoid using the same keywords or phrases in different content. Doing so can confuse search engines and fall off your SEO radar. To that end, edit your social media headlines to be more descriptive and to use keywords for more context.

Text Substitution: Image Substitution by Anchor Words

Keyword Research

Tip: To get insightful keyword ideas, use your platform’s tool to lookup phrases, words, or phrases on the web itself. This will help you see what topics, people, or businesses are being discussed, possibly triggering a calculated keyword plan for your website.

How To Use Copyright Plagiarism Detection Software to Boost Your SEO Since search engines are functional, they only look at whether you copied someone else’s content when assessing your site’s eligibility for search results. To get around this, you can use plagiarism detection software like Grammarly—the free version of which can pick up a lot of subtle copy mistakes like redundant prepositions and misplaced conjunctions.

Write quality content that’s yours.

The Biggest Source of Traffic for Your Online Business? It's Not What You Think!

The Biggest Source of Traffic for Your Online Business? It's Not What You Think!

The Biggest Source of Traffic

As a digital marketer, you’re always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to bring traffic to your website and generate leads. The truth is that there are plenty of traffic sources available to your business, but not all of them are effective or reliable. That’s why you need to know where the majority of your website visitors are coming from right now — and if they’re actually converting into leads and paying customers — before you decide to spend money advertising elsewhere. We've done the research for you!

1. The most effective and reliable traffic sources

Traffic is king. Since Google first started ranking websites, Internet marketers have recognized the value of getting traffic. Just as important, knowing how to get the traffic you need is a step toward becoming a successful online business. The best source of traffic for your blog or website may not be what you think it is. There's a lot of hype around social networking sites, search engine optimization (SEO), and email list building - but it can be hard to determine which of these tactics is most effective for your business.

2. How to use the best traffic sources for your online business

How big is the source of traffic for your online business? It’s not what you think! Every business has some traffic coming in from "the main net" which is dominated by Google. The real question you should be asking yourself is: What is the best way to use this traffic to your advantage? It could be promoting your products on Google AdWords (which gets you a bunch of "backlinks"""), paying for video views through YouTube ads, or even getting affiliate links from other websites that are helping drive traffic to your site.

3. The 3 biggest traffic sources that digital marketers are overlooking

There are 3 big traffic sources that digital marketers are overlooking. They aren’t just huge, they’re the lifeblood to so many businesses and sites that many fail to take advantage of them. These traffic sources have been responsible for feeding my business nearly 40 percent of its traffic for the past 12 months. These are the sources you should be focusing your time and energy on if you want more traffic, leads, and sales for your online business.

4. How to make the most of each traffic source and ensure it's working for you

Have you ever wondered which source of traffic is the biggest source of potential for your online business? You probably know Google and Facebook as the king and queen of online traffic, respectively. But have you considered other sources of traffic? More specifically, have you considered search engine optimization (SEO)? Search engine optimization (SEO) is a process that differentiates sites that are ranking well from those that aren't. It's important to spend some time looking at search engine optimization (SEO) so that you can get ahead in the rankings and see more targeted traffic from the right places.

Conclusion:

There are plenty of ways to promote your business online, but not all of them will bring you targeted leads and paying customers — including social media! Learn how to get more out of your current traffic sources, and where your biggest opportunities lie.

5 Tips to Boost Your SEO: Making Your Website Google-Friendly

5 Tips to Boost Your SEO: Making Your Website Google-Friendly

Boost Your SEO: Making Your Website Google-Friendly

You’ve been in business for a while and you’re ready to take your business up several notches. But how do you do that? By increasing the traffic on your website, or by improving your ranking in search engines? The answer is both! A great way to improve your ranking on search engines is through the process of SEO — Search Engine Optimization. For more information, see this article on five simple tips to boost your SEO.

Coose a search engine optimization strategy that’s best for your business. Search engine optimization, or SEO, is a long-term strategy for improving your website’s ranking in search results. There are three main approaches to SEO: organic SEO, paid search, and SEO copywriting. An SEO strategy focuses on scoring as many top-ranking results as quickly as possible, as Google’s algorithm doesn’t change too quickly. Additionally, SEO copywriting, which I cover next, is an excellent strategy for increasing the visibility of a business’ words and giving them more eyeballs on the web page, especially on Google.

“Open website in a new window/tab and start to test things out. Let Google do its magic.”

Love the sound of that! And we can all relate to that: when we are searching for something on Google, we want that Google magic that we just heard. Open the website you want to improve and start exploring some of the basics of SEO — something I like to call:

Search Engine Optimization at a Glance:

Generally speaking, the longer, the more descriptive name matches the SEO phraseology, and in some cases, it could result in better SEO results.

“Improve your positioning with SEO-friendly titles, descriptions, and keywords.”

Pretty robust, no? I would never pass this information off as gospel, though, as changing a title or keyword can have serious repercussions: Google won’t show you the same results that you would have seen if you used your real title and keywords. Remember, you only have 60 days to live on Google, even if you have a lot of duplicate content. You shouldn’t be afraid to experiment with title and keyword strategy, but keep in mind that something you tout as SEO won’t mean anything without testing it to see if it has an impact on rankings. Google won’t see your experimentation results.

2. Identify and Address Keyword Mistakes on Your Site

Many businesses forget to use the term “keyword” when creating their top-ranking pages, nor do they understand what it means. Choose keywords that your customers will use to find your business

Having the right keywords is important because it allows you to be found when people are searching for you, but it’s also important to use keywords that your customers will use to find your business. If you’re a local business, they’re not going to use a keyword that you have no hope of ranking for. Their first thought will be the nearest grocery store or supermarket that has everything they need. They don’t even need to make an effort to go there. They know that’s where they can get their item easily. That is the power of a good keyword.

Now, keywords aren’t enough if you don’t have good ones in your title and description. Your competitors also have these phrases in their titles and descriptions, so it’s important to be first when people search for these terms. In this respect, there are three ways to mention a product or service in your title and description that are not listed above but that can still boost your search engine ranking in a big way:

For example, if you were a small

Small-batch craft brewery in Australia and you wanted to be first in people’s results for their search for: ‘craft beer,’ you would title your page, ‘Craft beers in Australia’ and in your description, you would mention you have one of the best craft beers in your local area.

Oftentimes, people who know your niche will use your homepage as their first search before actually checking out your other pages. So, instead of finding other articles on the web, they will first go to your homepage and see if it looks promising. Once they find your page, they will see your location information and the type of business you are, and then they will check out other local businesses in their area that do similar things. Your marketing here will directly target them and try to encourage them to check out your other pages.

3. Create a website that is user-friendly and allows search engines to index it easily

Designing a website that is user-friendly is important because your website is your business card. The website should be easy to navigate and easy for search engines to index. It’s also important to make sure you have a privacy policy on your website so that people know what information you’re collecting and how you’re using it. Last, you should let people know about important updates on your website, such as a new tofu recipe for that vegan friend who loves tofu, or a new customized gift basket for high school students with gifts they really like.

You can ask your website to offer you an “A” or “B” user-friendly rating, which is helpful to people who are trying to decide between choosing your business or another one. A 5-star user rating is also a great way to remind people who have visited a website about the nice things they’ve encountered. This rating can also be found within different sections of your website so people can always find updates about your business from an easily accessed menu.

Business hours

You might be thinking that a business that has separate online branches has different business hours than its main website. Are those hours more flexible? Is your business waiting on clients when they’re away on vacation, during the holidays, or other instances? Yes, you can answer yes to these questions! Google Business Center allows you to not only set these hours but also to set priorities for them by creating policies. Some programs are stronger than others, so make sure you cautiously check each policy, each website, and each branch to find the best program for your business. Choose which areas of your business will be easily accessible by phone for your customers. Make sure you also include any other special hours or properties you’re launching soon.

Review management

Review management is a process that could potentially increase the number of customers visiting your business. Should you require a minimum number of reviews to gain a social media sharing or page views boost on Google Business Center? Probably not.

4. Keep up with SEO best practices, such as adding new content and keeping pages updated

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of getting traffic from search engines. Search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Baidu, decide what pages to show in their search results. They do this by looking at different factors, or criteria, to determine the pages’ relevance to each keyword search. When you convince people to visit your website through search engines, it helps your ranking in their search. Achieving high ranking on search engines, such as Google, is known as ‘search engine ranking,’ and it’s determined by many factors beyond just your quality web design or hygiene.

What we’re going to see in this article is that you can actually utilize your physical address, which you might know as your ‘physical address,’ and personalize it to help you skyrocket high up on their search engine results pages (SERPs), which determine what’s shown on people’s search results pages, such as the first page of results for a search. Based on the SERPs, search engines use rankings to figure out where to put your website, so they’re more likely to bring visitors to you. First, let’s identify which ranking factors help with traffic to your sites, such as keyword prominence, and content relevance. This will give you a good starting point for finding ways to provide high-value content to readers.

Some of the ranking factors that help boost website traffic include links, related searches, accessibility, and authority, and links. Now that you know some of the things search engines look for, you need to come up with more than you can put into one sentence in your headline. You need to create content with an SEO basis to prove to search engines that you’re worthy of being there, and hopefully get more traffic. Here are five ways you can get more traffic to your website with no pushy writing. For more information on how to optimize your headline strategy for ranking on search engines, see this guide, as well as this article on three simple ways to continually improve your headline’s design.

5. Use social media and other online resources to promote your website

Building an audience online is all about providing value and being consistent. Make a social media strategy that lets people know when to expect new content from you. If you can help them build the content into their routine, then they’ll keep coming back for more. To promote your website, use the social media channels you already have to drive traffic to your website.

You have all the tools in the world to start building your audience, but is it enough to turn your dreams into reality? SEO is still in its infancy. It is still being discussed and devised all over the internet. Below are a few things every marketer and website owner should keep in mind.

Figuring out what people want is a big part of improved search engine optimization (SEO). SEO attempts to get your website to the top of the search results page. It’s continually being improved over time, with many attempts from Google to change the algorithms. For example, we recently saw changes to search results that made the term “running shoes” show up first when users searched for that term. It’s one of the reasons why Nike is on an SEO roll these days

Your website should allow people to easily find the information they are looking for. Learning about these types of things helps to craft a specific strategy for improving your ranking. For reading more about what pays off for creating SEO strategies, check out the first Google article in the Google SEO Starter Guide.

It’s important to not leave a main trail of breadcrumbs to draw your visitors to your site. It is wasteful and inefficient. In fact, most landing pages do not have anything to lead to your actual website. When deciding how to improve your SEO, you want to nail this element first. See if there are any common keywords that are continuously used. If a keyword is constantly used in a particular niche, it is a strong contender to be using today. Go ahead and pull that keyword out of your head and use it while creating your keywords list.
